3 Ways to Make a SMALL Amount of Money Online from Your Couch

Look, I’m not going to try to convince you that you’re going to make a ton of money from these websites if you ”just spend enough time” doing it. No, that’s not realistic. But, sometimes I want to make a little bit of extra cash with minimal effort so I turn to these websites that I can do from the comfort of my couch.

I’ve tried all of the websites to make money from home, but these are the ones that I can confidently say I made money from (in order from best to worst):

1. Rev

If you have a laptop or iPad or tablet, you can sign up for Rev. It’s a transcription website where you type out all different subjects of audio, and sometimes video, files. This is really only worth it if you are somewhat decent at typing.

BUT, when I first started, it took a lot longer than it does now. I used to have to type them out from scratch, but they now have what’s called their ”Line Editor”, which is a rough version of the transcription that you need to edit for accuracy. You can also set specific parameters on the audio/video files that you want to transcribe (for example, I set mine for maximum 2 speakers).

Again, this isn’t going to get you rich, but if you do it consistently, you can make some extra cash. Some weeks, I only do one transcription and make between $8-10, but when I didn’t have much going on, I made almost $120 in a week. The pay per hour isn’t great unless you are really fast, but you are getting to sit at home in bed or on your couch and not spending the money!

2. InboxDollars

This website (which you can do on your phone!) kind of encompasses a few different ways of making money, but I just stick to the surveys. Remember I told you this is a LITTLE bit of money that you should expect to make!! A survey could take anywhere between 5 to 30 minutes, and you may or may not get around $0.10-$1.00 (generally).

Again, not great. But if you’re sitting there watching a TV show or just hanging out, take 1-2 surveys each day and eventually you’ll have money to cash out ($10 minimum)! Or, let the money sit and just make it a mindless task each day – after a while, you’ll have an extra $50! You can cash it out for gift cards and other things, but I always choose the PayPal route.

The surveys can be easy and some can be more difficult. You may even get disqualified in the middle, which is a bummer. I always just go for the mindset that it’s money I didn’t have before, and it’s a better use of my time than scrolling on TikTok or staring at the TV (or doing nothing on my lunch break!).

Explore the website and see if any of the other options work for you too! I’m not interested in the other stuff, but I know they have stuff like playing certain apps or signing up for services also.

3. Survey Junkie

Now, of the two survey sites, I like this one less. I keep it on the list though, because I have made enough to cash out a few times. This site is strictly for taking surveys, which makes it easier to navigate and easier to look at. You can also do this one on your phone, and sometimes the surveys have more luck. In my opinion, it’s more difficult to get your points to accumulate, but it has a smaller cash out threshold, at 500 points or $5.00.

This is one of the ways that you can just watch TV and take a couple surveys a day. I’ll find that I have an extra $20 saved up by the end of the month (when I am consistent), which is a good meal out or a few lunches a week!

Making money for taking surveys is also just so simple because you are simply answering your opinion about products or ideas or videos. It doesn’t require certain skillsets, it just requires you to talk about yourself – and who doesn’t love remembering the extra little cash they have waiting when money gets tight!

BONUS: Solitaire Cash App

Now, I just recently decided to add this. I have NEVER been a sucker for a game of chance or also for any app that promises you can win cash; however, I LOVE solitaire. I found myself playing the one on Google frequently, and I thought, hey why not have it on an app? I’m sure there are apps that are just simply solitaire, but this one was advertised on Trivia Crack…and now, we’re here.

I told myself I could only consider this a win and write about it on here if I truly made money without having to put any money in. Are you surprised I did it? Me too.

I started by just playing the games that require the free coins that you get. Eventually, this led to where if I had enough coins, I could enter for a chance to win ”bonus cash”. Now, bonus cash cannot be withdrawn, BUT it can let you enter games where you can win real cash.

So, I found myself slowly going through all the steps, and I used the coins that I slowly built up, and now I have over $10 in just one day. I can easily go ahead and withdraw it, but I can also just keep letting it grow. It’s truly a game of chance (however, it does require playing fast to get the most points), so the money will fluctuate up and down, but from what I’ve seen, the net gain is worth the time spent getting to just play a game I like and also keeping my brain sharp.
