Are you looking to start a blog? Well, it’s been years since I started mine now, and I remember just listening to as many podcasts as I could. After all, it’s free education! If you love the convenience of listening to podcasts, then this is the post for you. So many bloggers are putting so much knowledge and experience into these episodes, and I’m telling you all my favorites.
Like I said, this is free education! And while many of these bloggers repeat similar information, everyone has their own unique style and approach to blogging. That’s why I don’t just listen to a singular podcast. My approach to everything is to just gather information and then take the pieces that fit me and what I want. Heck, you’ll even see that in every post, because I just list places to go with the intent of letting you decide how to make your itinerary!
So, for the list below, I’m hoping you take the recommendations into your own hands, and find the episodes that give you what you’re looking for! Topics that I love may not be of interest to you, and vice versa. But, I will share 3 good episodes of each show in the hopes that you can see some of the topics I listened to when starting my blog.
Looking for a hosting platform??
After doing my own research years ago, I went with Bluehost. To read more about Bluehost or sign up for their hosting, click here: Bluehost Hosting. Honestly, I’m a pretty basic blogger. I don’t know all the ins and outs of everything, so I wanted something that was easy to work with and easy to maintain. Well, Bluehost fit the bill. I signed up for a 3-year contract for somewhere between $100-150 almost 5 years ago now. I haven’t changed since.
I rarely have any issues come up, and if I do, there is always someone to chat. They also make it super easy to purchase and manage your domains! I have literally switched my website name 5 times. Even though I’m not an expert at IT, it was super easy to do.
When it comes to blogging, you definitely want your own domain. That’s why it’s so key to start your blog through a hosting service! This way you’ll get your domain with a “.com” which is much more professional and attractive to your potential audience. AND, hosting starts at just $2.95 per month. If this sounds like something you’re interested in or you want to learn more, click here: Bluehost Hosting.

Well, needless to say, as mainly a travel blog, this one is a no-brainer. I feel like a lot of times, these podcast hosts have expertise in a ton of different areas, but travel blogging gets overlooked sometimes. Okay, I’m definitely a newbie to this blog, but I’m so happy I found it. Again, I love to get information from tons of different sources, because there isn’t just one correct way! These hosts talk about topics that I’ve never really heard before, which is hard to do. I feel like I’ve sort of heard it all in different variations, so I love finding new stuff to take in. Just like the one above, I’m a newbie to this one too! But I’ve already listened to a few good episodes. These episodes are also pretty easy to listen to and gain helpful information. Sometimes you just need a quick episode on a topic you either really wanted to hear about or maybe you didn’t know you needed. She also does interviews with other experts if you’re wanting longer episodes, but I feel like she actually sticks to the topic of blogging and concepts around it, while others bounce around more.

12. Do It Scared
Sadly, this blog is no longer running. BUT, I had to include it because it was my favorite for a long time back in 2020. And the episodes are still up!! Truly, it is so worth going back and listening to her episodes. She does her “Get Ruthed” episodes, where she literally records coaching conversations. I thought those were some of the most informative podcast episodes I’ve heard, because you hear her critiques and advice in real time. So many of the things she brings up with those clients are things you may not think about. This way you get to hear real problem areas before you even start – truly, highly recommend.
